Clarissane reviews: Famous Soong Kee Beef Ball Noodles, KL

A good place my dad likes to take us for a delicious, hearty bowl of Beef Ball Noodles every since I was a kid, right here in the heart of KL.

They’ve been around for over 30 years. From a small stall by the roadside till today, a shop by itself. I still remember, as a kid sitting by the dark alleyway tucking into the delicious bowl of noodles, being oblivious to the surroundings of toxic fumes coming out from the buses and cars, just enjoying my meal! Till today, the standard of food has been quite consistent, but of course with increase in prices.

A bowl now costs RM4.50 onwards, depending on what you order. I usually have the noodles with beef balls since I don’t fancy the side-orders like beef tripe and the various other spare parts of the cow.

The noodles are nice and springy in texture, with a sprinkle of minced beef. Stir it all up, and you get the perfect combination of delicious noodles to the core. The beef balls are bouncy and juicy, dip it with the chilli sauce provided and voila…<3

Right outside this shop, there’s also a small stall serving porridge, their most notable being the fish and fried pig intestine’s (Chee Chap Chuk) porridge and their steamed white chicken (Pak Cham Kai).

We usually always order those items as well, but when we arrived at 7.30pm on a weekend, everything was sold out already. Yes, it is that good. Really worth trying! If you’re around the KL vicinity, do drop by.. I guarantee, you won’t regret it ;)
