ronnycakes reviews: Kimchi Haru; Jaya One

Most of the Korean restaurants that I have been to are usually pretty expensive so it is a refreshing change to find a Korean place that isn’t harsh on the wallet and still has pretty good tasting food.
Written on the menu is their motto: “Healthy food and No MSG”; I don’t think I felt thirsty after the meal so I suppose they do hold true to their motto. :p

Kimchi Haru has been around for quite some time and since ramen noodles are one of my favourite things to eat in the whole wide world (I can be happy eating noodles everyday), Wils took me to try them out.

Refillable banchan – Kimchi, my fav!

For sharing we ordered the Korean Dumplings which were pan-fried with a filling of pork, glass noodles and chives. Albeit a little different from the dumplings that I normally have, it still tasted great with a crispy exterior and juicy filling.

The Seafood Ramyun (RM11.80) came with prawns in spicy soup.

The Spicy Ramyun (RM 10.50) was just noodles with kimchi in spicy soup (similar to the soup in the Seafood Ramyun but a tad spicier) but the soup was tasty with a spicy kick enough to encourage me to slurp it all up on my own.

All in all it’s a nice Korean restaurant to try out as they have quite a variety of food to choose from, as well as having a cozy ambience. Prices are also easy on the wallet so it won’t hurt to come by to try out their other stuff if you’re into Korean food.

Lovely kimchi picture. Sounds like a basic Korean place to try one day.

Popular with the students from the adjacent college and working crowd from nearby, though I was not impressed with the quality of the food or the ban chan.
