Clarissane reviews : Dave’s Pizza, Pasta & Grill @ One Utama

Another kid on the block which serves delicious, tasty Italian with a Western twist!

They serve a good variety of pizzas (thin-crust, the ones I love!), pastas and their famous Pork Belly which I’ve yet to try out myself but have heard various comments about how good it is! (my next visit perhaps? :))

This time round, I was there specifically to check out for myself their ‘talked about in town’ lunch deal where all pastas (except for their specialty ones) are @ 50% off!

Choose from a choice of spaghetti, fettuccine, linguine, angel hair and penne and pick from the wide range of sauces and ingredients available. Custom-made to suit your taste buds! ;)

The Aglio Olio Mixed Seafood (Clams, Scallops, Prawns, Mussels, Fish and Calamari), RM 15 (after 50%) was a good choice. The spaghetti with its nice, springy texture perfectly complemented the light blend of herbs and seafood.

Quite a generous amount of ingredients which is a definite plus point!

Next was the Extra Virgin Olive Oil with Smoked Pork Sausage and Mixed Mushrooms, RM 14 (after 50%) with Linguine. The smoked sausages were in abundance and its taste, crunchy and juicy. With a tinge of cheese, this dish was a winner!

Their Tomato Sauce with Mixed Seafood, RM 15 (after 50%) paired with Penne was mediocre. Taste wise, it was nothing amazing…probably the penne didn’t pair well with the mixed seafood. It would probably taste nicer with their homemade meatballs.

Didn’t manage to try their Carbonara sauces.. but I’ve been told that it is one of their signatures as well. To me, carbonara pastas needs to be shared.. since it can get a bit overwhelming after a few bites due to its richness and creaminess. Will definitely give that a go in my next visit on a sharing-basis! :P

Portions are also quite generous, we shared 3 plates among four people. Definitely a good place for a quick lunch fix if you’re in the mall!

And they serve one of the best carbonara in town. At half the price on weekday lunches, this is a steal indeed.
